Gaspesie and the Era of Connected Health
We are proud to contribute to the major shift in home support services in Quebec announced by Minister Sonia Bélanger during the important announcements on May 31st, Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux du Québec (MSSS)
Our connected devices once again demonstrate a promising potential for the future of healthcare in Quebec. Thanks to these technologies, nurses can monitor patients' clinical data and vital signs in real time, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels. In case of a problem, an alert is immediately sent, enabling direct contact with the patient for quick and effective management of the situation. These additional tools are designed to provide valuable and proactive assistance.
The major advantage lies in reducing hospitalizations, freeing up resources, and lowering healthcare costs. With the same number of staff, we will be able to care for a larger number of patients, thereby increasing the overall efficiency of the healthcare system. Although some concerns remain about the risk of neglecting the elderly and reducing human contact, the goal is to improve the care offer without reducing the number of caregivers. By integrating these technologies, we can provide more personalized and responsive follow-up while maintaining the importance of human interactions essential for patients' well-being.
We also want to highlight the exceptional collaboration and excellent work of the university researchers from HEC Montréal and Université Laval, the health institutions CISSS de la Gaspésie, CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches, CISSS de l'Outaouais, and in addition to our technology partners DOmedic and Vidéotron Affaires.
