We are proud to be among the eight Quebec companies selected as part of the Showcase of Health Innovations program.
What is the Showcase of Health Innovations program?
Launched in November 2022, this program aims to encourage local procurement and increase the proportion of goods produced in Quebec in the supply chains of the health and social services network. Through this program, the MEDTEQ+ team will support and accompany Quebec companies offering innovative technologies at the pre-commercialization stage that align with the specific needs and current challenges of the health and social services network.
The amount granted by the government to the eight selected companies in the two project calls (Senior Residences and Alternative Housing and Home Support) totals nearly $1.7 million. Together, the selected projects represent a value of nearly $3.3 million and aim to optimize the care and services offered. The initiatives also propose solutions to support caregivers and healthcare personnel in the context of workforce shortages.
This initiative aligns with the government's priority to make a major shift in home support by integrating innovative technologies into Alternative Housing and enabling seniors to stay at home for as long as possible. "By strengthening synergy between the business and healthcare sectors, we stimulate the development of promising technologies and their commercialization. In Quebec, we can rely on the significant research and innovation capacity of our life sciences sector, benefiting the entire population," said Pierre Fitzgibbon, Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, Minister responsible for Regional Economic Development, and Minister responsible for the Metropolis and the Montreal region, in a press release.
About Us
Virtuose Technologies has developed an innovative platform for home care. It allows the aggregation of patients' biometric data from different systems and connected devices. Using clinical intelligence, it analyzes and translates these data into real-time alerts or actions. The system also enables the creation of clinical protocols and the use of a virtual assistant allowing the user to answer questions about their health without a professional needing to be on-site.
The technology is currently being tested, among other places, at the CISSS des Laurentides. This project represents an investment of $698,315, and the government's funding will contribute to its successful implementation.
